Description: These pedestrian access point buffers were generated for exploratory purposes based on the language contained in the Senate Bill 79 (https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=202520260SB79). SB 79 authorizes specified heights and densities within parcels that are 200 feet, 0.25 miles, and 0.5 miles of any pedestrian access point to qualifying transit stations such as Caltrain, VTA Light Rail, BART and Rapid Bus Lines.SB 79 requires that the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) create a map of the City’s transit-oriented development stops and zones by tier, as designated by SB 79, and in accordance with any guidance prepared by the Department of Housing and Community Development. Until MTC releases their own pedestrian access points, we are using these. The buffers are created using our SB79PedestrianAccessPoints layer.
