For the actual legal city boundary, refer to the Incorporated feature class in GeoPLN instead. This layer started as a copy of the Incorporated feature class but has been adjusted in serveral areas to account for geolocation anomalies and properties that are split by the city boundary but still served by San Jose 311.Data is updated as needed.
Description: Since 1978, voters have elected council members from among candidates living within their district, plus the mayor who is elected at large citywide. With the subsequent release of decennial census data by the US Census Bureau in the years 1980, 1990, 2000, and 2010, City Council District boundaries have been adjusted to meet legal requirements and San Jose's own redistricting criteria. The City Council District boundaries are updated every ten years. This dataset reflects the current Council District boundaries, which are the 2021 districts and went into effect February 11, 2022. Data is updated as needed for annexations or City boundary changes.
